It’s an honor to be the lead volunteer blazing the trail for the first ever Carry That Weight campaign. Just as Jack’s is blazing the trail for strengthening men who are caregivers.
I came to Jack’s about a year and half ago after my late partner Kate passed away. The Sequel Makers side of Jack’s has been a great source of support and camaraderie.
Carry That Weight does a couple of things for me. One, it scratches my trail blazing itch. I love doing new things and seeing what happens. And two, Kate was an adventurous soul as well. She always liked to join me for my adventures, so I see this as a great way to honor her.
I’ve started the first ever Carry That Weight fundraising team. We are Team Samurai and we’re recruiting if you’d like to join us! To Brad, Dave, and Ben who have led the charge with their donations, I want to say thank you very very much for your support. Not only through the campaign, but also personally over the past year and half.
