This was the second year that Jack's Caregiver Coalition was the recipient of the funds raised at the Swing Back at Cancer annual golf tournament. Over the past 10 years this generous organization has raised over $300,000 and donated all the proceeds to a local cancer organization. The second year of the partnership saw some exciting growth and additions to the day’s events. First, and foremost we increased the number of teams registered to 30 teams. This was an increase of more than 10 teams, or 40 new golfers. Jack's was able to bring 10 volunteers to help out the day of the tournament as well as help out the weeks before the tournament with planning, securing the items for the raffle, and raising awareness of the event. We also added a new fundraising event, a 50/50 raffle, this raised over $1,100 in just a few short hours as the morning registration was happening.
Thanks to the work that Cole and Joel Scattarelli, Sarah Manes, Jeff Myhre, Kyle Woody, Mark Mattson, and the other countless volunteers who helped in planning and putting this year's tournament on at The Links of Northfork Golf Course. The 2023 Swing Back at Cancer tournament set a goal to raise $20,000. Thanks to everyone’s generosity, we exceeded that goal by 15%, by raising over $23,000. Jack's already using the proceeds from this event to help launch and fund the newest chapter within Jack's, the North Metro Chapter. This is designed to provide more localized support, meetings and events, outreach, and raising awareness of Jack's Caregiver Coalition for our members in the northern part of the Metro area. Our mission is to make it easier for guys to connect with fellow Jack's that are closer to them, to give them more support as they go through one of the toughest journeys they will have to face. -Mark Mattson North Metro Chapter Champion
