A Jack identifies as a guy, and is 18 or older. They are or have cared for a loved one facing a health crisis.
Is that you? There is no paywall.
A ChangeMaker doesn't need to be a Caregiver or a Sequel Maker, but they believe in our mission and support them.
Is that you?
My identity prior to my cancer experience was that of a hardworking, kind of abrasive, in your face, get it done, no excuses kinda guy. I think people were fairly intimidated by me. One of my partners pretty much avoided any confrontation because he knew it was gonna be an outright battle and I wasn’t gonna lose. But anyone who’s faced the challenge of caring for a loved one with cancer will tell you that it challenges you to grow. It’s made me a way better boss. A way better husband. A way better father. A way better person. I’m a lot more empathetic than I ever was. I continue to find more opportunities to just be humble and caring and compassionate.
I believe what becoming a member of Jack’s did for me was accelerate that growth, maybe even exponentially. The stuff I’ve learned and the relationships I’ve built have given me the confidence, the clarity, and peace of mind that I am in fact bringing my best to my challenges.”

Health crises do not discriminate, and neither do we. Jack’s Caregiver Coalition does not discriminate against any person in membership in the organization based on race, color, national origin, ethnicity, culture, language, disability, age, creed, religion, sex, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, socioeconomic status, military status or other protected class status as provided by applicable law. In addition to providing a discrimination-free community, Jack’s Caregiver Coalition is committed to providing a positive and supportive environment for caregivers through programming and activities tailored to its members’ needs.
Because Jack’s is unique, we get a lot of questions. We decided to answer those we get most often.
To Jack's a "Caregiver" is a non-professional, unpaid person caring for another person facing a health crisis. Caregivers can be spouses, partners, friends, neighbors, or family of any kind.
To improve the way guys think, feel, and act through every phase of their caregiving journey.
We offer virtual support to Caregivers anywhere in the United States or Canada. Our in-person programming currently operates in Minnesota only. If you are interested in learning how to bring our in-person programming to your community please contact us.
To Jack's a "Sequel Maker" is a caregiver after the death of the person they were caring for. Caregivers in this situation often ask, "who am I now?". Our Sequel Makers program helps men find that answer.
For too long, men have been taught to stay strong by staying silent. Jack’s helps men who care for others feel seen, supported, and connected – turning quiet struggles into shared strength.
While building an organization where men are the mission, we discovered including women is a win-win. Our Jack-to-Jack program is exclusively for men, while the following programs are open to all Caregivers:
Since our inception women have been among our biggest cheerleaders. Many donate, serve on our board, and volunteer in a variety of capacities. Together, we imagine a world where caregiving is no longer viewed as just a "women’s role"—because last we checked, love and responsibility don’t come with gender labels.
Anyone who identifies as a man can become a Jack. And anyone can become a ChangeMaker. Health crises do not discriminate and neither do we. Jack’s Caregiver Coalition does not discriminate against any person in membership in the organization on the basis of race, color, national origin, ethnicity, culture, language, disability, age, creed, religion, sex, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, socioeconomic status, military status or other protected class status as provided by applicable law. In addition to providing a discrimination-free community, Jack’s Caregiver Coalition is committed to providing a positive and supportive environment for caregivers through programming and activities tailored to its members’ needs.
A Klatch is a casual, friendly Jack’s gathering where people share stories, advice, and connection. We offer monthly in-person and virtual Caregiver Klatches, and monthly in-person Sequel Maker Klatches.
